The Hong Kong Airport (HKG)

Hong Kong Airport

Known as one of the best airports in the world, the Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) is an experience in itself. From the time your plane touches down the Hong Kong ground to the time you take the coach to your chosen hotel, you’ll never run out of things to see and do.

The airport is strategically designed not only to serve travelers but also to cater to international and high end consumers who are entering HK through this posh airport. So, it’s not unusual to see themed restaurants, designer boutiques like Prada, Gucci, Fendi, ad infinitum, as you find your way to thee exit gate or the boarding gate area. Be prepared to shell out some dough if you have shopaholic tendencies.

You won’t have to worry about being stuck with your local currency as there are service banks and currency exchange at the airport. You can also withdraw from your credit card or international debit account from any HSBC ATM. We found out later during our trip that taking some cash out of ATM gave us a better rate than scouring for some questionable foreign exchange outlet in Kowloon.

The HKG airport is also a convenient place to browse the Internet as there are public wifi connections everywhere. So this is good news for those who need to send last minute emails or check how their businesses are doing via the Internet.

Traveling to and from the HKG airport is not a problem. The most popular ground transport is the taxi and there are also buses available in various terminals. Just ask the information desk to arrange one for you.
